Charter Booking Terms and Conditions

CONFIRMATIONS

Bookings cannot be confirmed until deposit is received.

PAYMENTS

General bookings: Full payment is required prior to departure.
Boxing Day, New Year's period and Australia Day bookings: Full payment is required 30 days prior to departure. Payments can be made online or by cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners, personal or company cheques or direct deposit. Visa and Mastercard payments incur a surcharge of 2%, Amex/Diners incur a surcharge of 3%. Cheques must be provided at least 7 days prior to the due date, EFT/Direct deposit must be made at least 72 hours prior to the due date.

CANCELLATIONS AND POSTPONEMENTS

General Bookings : cancellations require 30 days notice prior to departure in writing.
Boxing Day, New Year's Eve period and Australia Day bookings: require 60 days notice prior to departure in writing. You will be required to produce written acknowledgement from Eastsail that your cancellation has been approved. For approved cancellations, your booking can be transferred to a new date, less a 10% admin fee, to be taken within 6 months of the original departure date. if you cannot give the required notice for a cancellation or postponement, the deposit will be forfeited, refunds are not available.

REFUNDS

Are not available.

BOND PAYMENTS

Credit card bonds are authorised but not charged on a process called 'Pre Authorisation'. Your credit limit will be affected for a few days. This will not be converted into a sale unless the boat is damaged or any claim for damage or injury is notified or made. Bareboat bonds are double for charters on New Year's Eve, Boxing Day, Australia Day or when the yachts are involved in racing.

INCLEMENT OR UNSAFE WEATHER

EastSail determines the suitability of conditions and the possibility of postponement on the day of the charter. In the case of an approved postponement, the deposit will be held by EastSail, less a 10% administration fee and the full amount of any catering, drinks and crew fees. You are welcome to collect catering and drinks.You can rebook within 6 months, after which the credit shall expire. Refunds are not available.

VESSEL

EastSail reserves the right to change a charterer's booked vessel to another vessel of similar size and / or style as possible or cancel or postpone any booking.

CATERING

Final numbers are required 72 hours prior to departure. Catering cannot be cancelled after this time and you will be charged regardless of your consumption. Drinks can be ordered through our cellars. No returns or storage for left over drinks is available.

CAR PARKING

Parking can be difficult around the water front. Generally in the surrounding streets one side of the road offers unrestricted parking and the other side is limited to 2 hours. Please check parking signs before leaving your car. There are two parking stations located in New McLean St, Edgecliff.

ATTIRE

Comfortable clothing and dressing in layers, a snug fitting cap, sunglasses with safety strap and sunblock are recommended. We have long spray jackets available for use during your charter. Wearing suitable footwear is important. Please ask your guests to wear soft soled, non marking shoes. Hard soled shoes, high heels and black soled shoes can damage or mark the decks. Bare feet and thongs do not give adequate protection.

RIGID PLASTIC AND METAL FOOD CONTAINERS

Are not permitted aboard due to the damage they can cause to the varnish work. Each vessel has an icebox or fridge. Foam coolers are permitted.

DOCKING

Our contract expressly forbids the docking of the yacht at jetties and wharves. A limited number of rowing dinghies are available for your use, please advise us if you require a dinghy. Water taxi's can be contacted to do transfers from the yacht to shore. Docking damage to the yacht is the greatest ( most expensive) risk and may exceed the value of your bond. Bareboat charters starts and finish at our base in Rushcutter's Bay. Skippered charters have the option of an alternate pick up and/or drop off locations at additional cost and/or time sacrifice.

DINGHY, LINEN & AWNINGS

Can be booked in conjunction with charters. There is no cost for awnings and dinghies except over NYE where demand exceeds supply. Linen must be pre-booked and a fee is applicable.

CHARTER AREA & OVERNIGHT CHARTERS

Our yachts are licensed to operate in Sydney Harbour, but the yachts are not permitted offshore, with the exception of our Beneteau Frist 40 'Leeward' which has bareboat offshore survey. Bareboat charters must be at anchor or docked between sunset and sunrise.

SURCHARGES AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Apply to the Christmas - New Year period and Australia Day.
