Marine Radio Course
The course will include operations of VHFDSC (short range) Radio communications as well as HF DSC (Long Range). This course meets the requirements of NSCV Master Class V (TDM ME501A) Marine Radio and is a pre-requisite for RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster certification, and is often required by charter companies overseas. RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster candidates are required to hold a radio license.

- Practical Use of VHF DSC radios
- Emergency Position Indicating Beacons (EPIRBS)
- Search and Rescue in Australia
- International requirements regarding usage
- INMARSAT Systems and Sailmail
Inclusions: You will be provided with a copy of extensive course notes on arrival or you can read the Radio Operators Handbook and go through the sample exam revision questions on line prior to the course at www.amcom.amc.edu.au/handbook/ There is a test at the end of the day that is sent away for marking. Please allow 2 weeks for receipt of result /certificate. This course is held at Mosman, near the ferry jetty.
