STCW10

Internationally accredited certification

 
STCW10 is a mandatory entry level safety qualification required by anyone who wishes to work as a professional seafarer internationally. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) lays down these Standards for the Training and Certification of Watch keepers known as STCW10. The course is intended for those mariners who wish to work on all classes of vessels internationally. On successful course completion participants will be issued with an internationally recognised, globally transportable, IMO accredited, STCW10 compliant certification specifically targeted at, but not limited to the international white boat industry both sail and power. The course is unique in that it is the only course offered in Australia where you obtain the following qualifications in one hit saving time and money:
  • STCW10 Certification (required to work on vessels internationally)
  • RYA / ISAF Personal Survival Training Certificate (racing in Cat 0, 1 and 2 races internationally)
  • RYA / MCA Basic Sea Survival Course (Mandatory for MCA commercially endorsed Yachtmasters (STCW10 < 200 GRT)
  • Marine First Aid Certification which is Australian Work Cover accredited and RYA/YA Compliant. It also meets training requirements for Australian Master 5
  • Yachting Australia's Sea Survival Certificate mandatory for YA cat 1 and 2 yachts races in Australia
  • Elements of Shipboard Safety (mandatory for all workers on Australian commercial vessels)

Course Duration
:
5 days 9am-5.30pm. Attendance on all days is mandatory for this course.

Previous experience:
Not required but RYA Dayskipper but recommended

Ability after the course:
Qualified to work as a deckhand or hostess overseas and in international waters. See certification below.
